Project Story

Demirören Teknoloji, which provides end-to-end information technology services to companies affiliated with Demirören investment Holding, primarily Demirören media companies such as Hürriyet, Milliyet, Posta, Fanatik, CNN TÜRK, Kanal D, Teve2 and Demirören News Agency, is the "Content Content" used by publishers. He started the project “Unification of Management Systems”. The project called CMS Consolidation Project was implemented with Bulutistan.

Current Structural Weaknesses and Project Needs

Content management platforms used to manage the contents of Hürriyet, Milliyet, and Posta print media organs were managed in a dispersed structure. In a structure of this size with a total of 400 different content managers, a certain CMS platform was used to prepare the content of a newspaper, while a different CMS platform was used while preparing the content of another newspaper. This brought with it a number of problems:

Demirören Teknoloji decided that it needed a new CMS platform to eliminate these problems and started the CMS Consolidation Project in January 2021.

Challenges Encountered During the Project

• Deciding on the right architectural structure was more difficult and time-consuming than expected for Demirören technology, as it is a complex project. As a result of the exchange of views with the Bulutistan technical team, especially the network and security architecture and the products to be used were decided. One of the important obstacles in the project was that the content editors got used to the new user experience and processes during their transition from the old CMS platform they used to the new CMS platform. This problem was overcome by simplifying the interfaces and giving the necessary training to the editors. In addition, matching difficulties were encountered during the transition of archive contents from the old and distributed structure to the new and integrated structure.

Advantages Provided

• With this project, Demirören media system teams gained experience in working with the Private Cloud. With the new application put into use, media workers have the ability to produce new-generation media content with current applications. Valuable archive contents in the distributed structure were consolidated and secured, and modern system requirements were obtained. Thanks to the Private Cloud environments taken from Bulutistan, Demirören Teknoloji has created its own basic cloud infrastructure. Agility was achieved thanks to the ease of access provided by the cloud environment to Demirören Teknoloji. Flexibility has been gained with managed services from Bulutistan system experts. Demirören Technology has made it possible to keep security and controls in its own hands. The Bulutistan team helped to minimize the difficulties experienced in the project processes, thanks to its support on maintenance and licensing costs, increasing resources without waiting for procurement processes. “System Initial Investment Costs”, which is one of the high-cost items of the project, were minimized. Thanks to the 24/7 support services provided by Bulutistan, we accelerated the installation and commissioning phases of the project.
